Rancho Mesa Attends 2nd Annual Ickler Electric Volley Pong Olympics

On Thursday, May 23, 2019, Rancho Mesa attended Ickler Electric’s 2nd Annual Volley Pong Olympics. Forty-two teams and more than 230 people, from all over San Diego County, played in the tournament to support The Seany Foundation and Camp Reach for the Sky. Together, they helped raise over $52,000; 100% of the proceeds going directly to support children impacted by cancer. Attendees enjoyed food, drinks, music, good company and of course, Volley Pong.

The Seany Foundation is a local non-profit that oversees Camp Reach for the Sky, a patient service camp program for kids battling cancer and their siblings. Camp has served the San Diego community since 1983 and continues to be a major resource for kids, sibling and parents battling cancer. Client Spotlight: Sunrise Bobcat & Hauling Services' Tiffany Carapella Elected to NAWIC Board of Directors

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) San Diego Chapter 21 held its annual election on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Riverwalk Golf Club. Members voted for the chapter’s President-Elect, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer and six Directors. Sunrise Bobcat & Hauling Services’ Tiffany Carapella was elected to the Board of Directors.

Carapella is the Chief Financial Officer for Sunrise Bobcat & Hauling Services, Inc., a well-established family-owned business located in Lakeside, CA.

She began her career as a Montessori teacher; but, after starting a family, Carapella found herself working side-by-side with her husband Tom Carapella in the family business.

Tiffany Carapella joined NAWIC in 2018 after hearing her daughter Tosha Carapella, who is Sunrise Bobcat & Hauling Services’ President, share many wonderful things about the organization. Tiffany attended the Fall Conference held in San Diego last year and has become a staple in an organization she now calls family.

“I am helping with Camp NAWIC, was a member of the WIC Week committee this year, and helped to plan and execute our very successful 1st annual Toast to the Trades event,” wrote Tiffany in the NAWIC San Diego Chapter’s Election Guide.

Carapella is a perfect fit for a board position as she is a dedicated team member and always put others first. She has many years of experience being in a leadership position and feels that she is a strong leader.

“I would be open to hearing different ideas and passions and bringing those to light with the help and guidance of my fellow board members,” wrote Carapella.

Tiffany is passionate about giving back to others and being an active influencer in her community. She believes “alongside a team of women who are equally as involved, we could better the community as a whole.”

Berkshire Hathaway's Zadock "Zee" Reid presented at the Heat Illness Prevention workshop hosted by Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Boys & Girls Club of East County in Santee, CA.

Zee conducted an educational and engaging workshop as he covered a variety of topics including:

The Heat Illness Prevention workshop is part the RM365 Advantage Safety Star Program™. At the end of the workshop, attendees completed and passed the required quiz to receive credit towards the program.

Rancho Mesa Co-Hosts OSHA 10 Course with Sentry Insurance

On May 23 & 24, 2019 Rancho Mesa Insurance Services co-hosted the OSHA 10 Course for the Construction Industry at the San Diego Christian College in Santee, CA. The two-day training was provided by Sentry Insurance.

Ken Grote, a Senior Safety Services Consultant for Sentry, taught the course covering a variety of topics such as the differences between Cal/OSHA and federal OSHA, hazard communication, fall prevention, proper scaffold usage, working safely with electricity, hearing protection, reducing falls, trenching and excavation safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), and much more.

Rancho Mesa Throws Fiesta Friday

Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc. hosted its annual Fiesta Friday on May 17, 2019 in Santee, CA. Partners and staff of Rancho Mesa enjoyed great company, tequila tasting, and delicious street tacos & churros made fresh on site.

The tequila tasting included score cards to judge the tequila based on appearance, aroma, flavor, and smoothness. This year’s, Nicho Real Extra Añejo 5 Years Tequila took the fan favorite, bumping last years winner, Avion Reserva 44 Extra Anejo Tequila, off the throne.

The pop-up photobooth was a favorite new addition to Fiesta Friday, as attendees had fun posing with props and friends!

Rancho Mesa Attends Padres Game with IIAB San Diego

Members of Rancho Mesa Insurance Services spent the afternoon with the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of San Diego (IIAB San Diego) at the organization’s Padre Game Event on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at San Diego’s Petco Park.

Account Executive Jeremy Hoolihan, Account Manager Christina Haake, Vice President Sam Brown, Account Manager Yvonne Gallagher, and Vice President Sam Clayton represented Rancho Mesa at the event.
