Rancho Mesa Insurance Services is pleased to announce the hiring of Rory Anderson, an Account Executive in the Landscape Group.

Rory’s background in sales, marketing, and customer service make him an ideal fit for Rancho Mesa’s growing Landscape Group. He specializes in Risk Management for tree trimmers and landscape professionals.

Rory was born and raised in San Diego, and currently lives downtown in East Village with his Fiancé Alex and their golden retriever puppy, Asher. Rory grew up playing sports, surfing, and playing guitar – all of which he still loves to do in his free time. He also enjoys great food, so him and his Fiancé are always checking out new restaurants; and they are big Laker and Padre fans!

With a background in marketing, web design, and customer relations, Emily’s energy and expertise make her an ideal fit for the Media Communications and Client Services department and Rancho Mesa team.

Emily was born and raised in Poway and now lives in El Cajon with her husband, two sons, and three dogs. She enjoys taking the trailer camping with her family and everything motorsports.

Employee Spotlight: Sam Clayton and Jeremy Hoolihan Visit Lambeau Field with Sentry Insurance Company

Rancho Mesa’s Sam Clayton, Vice President of the Construction Group, and Jeremy Hoolihan, Account Executive of the Construction Group, were the guests of Sentry Insurance Company at the Green Bay Packers vs. the Oakland Raiders game played on October 20, 2019. Sam and Jeremy were two of the four brokers selected from California for this amazing experience, based on Rancho Mesa’s relationship with Sentry.

Rancho Mesa Wishes Two Family Members a Happy Retirement

Within the last the last few months Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc. has said farewell to two longtime family members, Merry Rosseau and Kathy Scheuerman. Both contributed many years to Rancho Mesa’s success. They will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of working with them.

October 25, 2019 marked Merry Rosseau’s last day at Rancho Mesa. Merry spent 15 years at Rancho Mesa as a Senior Account Manager. Prior to that, she was an Office Manager for 13 years for the San Diego Branch of Colonial Western Agency. Her career in the insurance industry began with San Diego Federated/GAF Insurance Services, a subsidiary of the former San Diego Federal/Great American Saving Bank doing Personal Lines Insurance and ending as a manager.

Merry enjoys sewing, visiting quilt shops, and participating in craft shows. She also likes to bake and cook. Her favorite thing to do is spending time with family and friends, but her most favorite thing is to spend time with her three grandchildren.

Kathy Scheuerman started with Rancho Mesa in 2001. For almost 18 years she had various duties including receptionist, issuing certificates of insurance, supporting health benefits, and surety departments.

Kathy resides in El Cajon with her family. She enjoys various arts and crafts, including drawing, sewing and soap making.

We thank Merry and Kathy for their years of hard work and dedication to the team. They will be deeply missed but we wish them all the best in their new retired lives!

Rancho Mesa Bowls for Charity at IICF 12th Annual Tournament

On Thursday, October 3, 2019 the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) put on their 12th Annual Bowling Tournament at Kearny Mesa Bowl.

Rancho Mesa’s Sam Clayton, Vice President of the Construction Group; Jeremy Hoolihan, Account Executive of the Construction Group; Yvonne Gallagher, Landscape Account Manager; and Christina Haake, Construction Account Manager, participated in the raffle, enjoyed delicious food, met fellow insurance professionals, and had fun bowling; all while contributing to a good cause! The annual event raises funds to support grants, volunteer service and leadership to local charities.

"The IICF Bowling for Charity event is always a blast," says Christina Haake, Construction Account Manager at Rancho Mesa. "Our Rancho Mesa team had such a great time competing in the tournament, but also catching up with our friends in the industry. We look forward to it every year."

Employee Spotlight: Colin Cadman Joins Rancho Mesa's Employee Benefits Department

Rancho Mesa Insurance Services is pleased to announce that Colin Cadman has joined the Employee Benefits department as a Benefit Analyst. In this role, Colin will support the team in a variety of administrative and strategic ways, bringing his energy and expertise to this rapidly growing division within Rancho Mesa.

Colin was born and raised here in San Diego before attending UC Santa Cruz and graduating with a degree in Psychology. He currently resides in Bay Park with his fiancée and two dogs. He is an entrepreneur at heart, and his hobbies include rock climbing, game nights, beach volleyball, and hiking.

Rancho Mesa Insurance Services is pleased to announce the hiring of Rachel Bristol as a member of the certificate department and receptionist.

Rachel graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology, and went on to receive her M.A. in Biology from Miami University. Prior to Rancho Mesa, she worked at San Diego Safari Park as a private and public tour guide. Her strong customer service skills make her ideal for the certificate department and Rancho Mesa's front desk.

Rancho Mesa's Sam Brown Appears in 'My MAAC Story' Video

Rancho Mesa’s Sam Brown, Vice President of the Human Services Group, is featured in MAAC’s recently released video “My MAAC Story - Katie.”

Katie talks about her journey with MAAC and how the program taught her valuable life skills like writing a resume, opening a bank account, and enrolling in a technical training course that has helped her put her life back on track. Sam Brown praises MAAC for providing programs that directly help our communities.
