On September 2, 2023, Rancho Mesa employees and their clients gathered at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, CA, for an unforgettable evening of college football. Attendees were treated to a top-notch experience within Rancho Mesa’s suite box and pregame field passes.

The San Diego State Aztecs took on the Idaho State Bengals in a thrilling match that had fans on the edge of their seats. The game concluded with the 2 for 2 win of the season for the Aztecs.

On a sunny Saturday, August 26, 2023, Rancho Mesa employees came together for a day of camaraderie and sportsmanship at San Diego's Snapdragon Stadium. The occasion was the highly anticipated matchup between the San Diego State Aztecs and the Ohio Bobcats. From the comfort of Rancho Mesa's box suite, employees reveled in the game's twists and turns, surrounded by a vibrant atmosphere of cheering fans.

Amid the cheers and applause, employees enjoyed the perks of their VIP experience, savoring complimentary food and drinks while basking in the thrill of the game.

This memorable outing not only marked the Aztecs' first game of the season but also strengthened the bonds among Rancho Mesa's employees, fostering a sense of unity and shared achievement.

Rancho Mesa's Unbroken Streak: 17 Years of Excellence Recognized in National Best Practices Competition

Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc., a leading Southern California-based commercial insurance brokerage firm, has been awarded the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America's (Big “I”) Best Practices Agency designation for the seventeenth consecutive year.

An elite group of agencies endure a comprehensive analysis of their methods, practices and financials to determine the best agencies in the industry. Of the roughly 35,000 independent insurance agencies in the U.S., only about 150 across the nation were chosen this year for this distinction. In California, Rancho Mesa is among about a dozen agencies to earn the Best Practices status.

In order to participate, an agency must first be nominated by the Big “I.” Then, it must submit detailed financial and operational information which is analyzed, scored, and ranked objectively based on operational excellence, including: outstanding customer services, growth, stability, and financial management.

The data collected from these Best Practices independent insurance agencies is studied and used to establish benchmarks in which other agencies can measure their performance and adjust their businesses based on the best practices guidelines established through the study.

“This is an award that is difficult to achieve, so I’m particularly proud of our continued efforts. Congratulations one and all for your contributions and efforts,” Rancho Mesa President, Dave Garcia said. 

Each year, the Big “I” publishes its "Best Practices Study" using financial and operational data collected from agencies throughout the United States. The 2023 Best Practices Study will be available later this year. It will include a list of all the Best Practices Agencies by state and the results of the study.

The commemoration was hosted at The Skybox at DiamondView Tower in downtown San Diego, CA. The venue provided a beautiful setting, overlooking downtown, the water, and Petco Park.

President Dave Garcia attributed the company’s success to carrier partners, clients, leadership team members including his wife Char, and the entire Rancho Mesa team.

Kelly brings over 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, along with a thorough background in human resources. Having already earned her insurance license, Kelly is “thrilled to be back in the insurance industry” and we look forward to her future with Rancho Mesa.

Outside of work, Kelly enjoys reading, playing Mario Kart with her kids, and wine tasting with friends. She also loves to travel, her favorite destination being Belgium.

Rancho Mesa's growing team welcomes a new addition to the accounting department with Tanisha Ranaglia as an accounting assistant.

Throughout her career, Tanisha has gained over 15 years of customer service, inventory and operations experience, making her equipped for her new role in the accounting department.

Tanisha is a San Diego native, and was born and raised in East County. Outside of work, Tanisha enjoys cooking, cheering on her son at his baseball games, and watching the Padres play.

Rancho Mesa is thankful to have Tanisha's valued skills and experience on the team, and we are excited for her future at the company.

Opening Day: Rancho Mesa Employees Are Welcomed Into New Home

Monday, April 25, 2023 was an exciting day for the Rancho Mesa family, as the company officially moved into their new office location in Mission Valley, San Diego, CA.

Three years ago the office separated into 2 locations to accommodate growing staff. Now, the new location’s spacious layout has allowed all employees to finally be reunited under one roof.

President Dave Garcia’s vision was brought to life thanks to Char Garcia, Kim Vasquez, Lori Stone, and Alyssa Burley.

New OSHA Log Documentation Features Released in the HR Portal

In its most recent update, the RM365 HRAdvantage™ portal has released a new OSHA log feature that allows clients to document their OSHA recordable incidents in the portal.

Clients will now have the ability to document their company’s incidents, generate the OSHA 300 Form and 300A Summary, and sort the data by location of the incident, employees involved, and type of injury.

The portal also added a feature that helps employers determine whether an incident is OSHA recordable. The user can answer a brief series of questions to help determine if documentation is necessary.  

These new features can be found on the “Safety” menu, then click “OSHA Logs.”

The Future of Risk Management: Rancho Mesa Launches SafetyOne™ Mobile Application

Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc. would like to formally announce the launch of its very own SafetyOne™ Mobile and Desktop Application, a platform that will allow clients to integrate risk management with mobile convenience.   

In our continual commitment to meet our client’s needs, Rancho Mesa will be discontinuing our previous risk management platform to make way for new technology. SafetyOne™ will allow companies to effectively manage their safety and risk management needs directly through any mobile device. 

“I’m so excited about the launch of our SafetyOne™ app. Our amazing client services team has spearheaded the implementation of SafetyOne™,” Dave Garcia, President of Rancho Mesa, said. “Personal training, on-demand videos, and regularly scheduled webinars will ensure quick understanding and use of the SafetyOne™ App for our clients.”

SafetyOne™ is designed to carry out an effective safety program within your organization. With a variety of features, clients can administer tailgate talks, perform safety observations, complete mobile forms such as incident reports, and access company policies and files all from their mobile device.

“The SafetyOne™ App is really going to streamline our clients' safety programs through real-time data and intuitive technology. Plus, with minimal setup required, we expect clients to start using it right away," Alyssa Burley, Media Communications and Client Services Manager, said.

Rancho Mesa is looking forward to offering clients a unique risk management experience as well as a library of online safety training courses to assure they are best equipped to manage their risk.

“We’ve had a focus group of clients using it for the past six weeks and their reactions and excitement have been off the charts. We’ve been working for the last several years to create a mobile app that has the ability to assign trainings to employees, conduct those trainings in the field, and then digitally track their completion,” Garcia said. 

With the new platform officially launched, Rancho Mesa’s client services team will begin reaching out to clients directly to start their personal onboarding process into the new platform.
