Alyssa Burley: Hi! This is Alyssa Burley with Rancho Mesa’s Media Communications and Client Services Department. Thank you for listening to today’s top Rancho Mesa news brought to you by our safety and risk management network, StudioOne™. Welcome back everyone, my guest is Megan Lockhart, Media Communications and Client Services Coordinator with Rancho Mesa. Today, we're going to chat about the Heat Illness Prevention Workshop we just hosted. Megan, welcome to the show.

Megan Lockhart: Thanks for having me.

AB: Now, Megan, we typically host an in-person workshop every month. And earlier today, we hosted the Heat Illness Prevention Workshop at the San Diego Mission Valley Library. Who was today's presenter?

ML: Yeah, it was presented by Zee Reed from Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies

AB: And we've had him present a couple of times for us, and Zee spoke for a little over an hour today. So, for our listeners, will you kind of give a recap of what the topics were that he covered?

ML: Yeah, so he used the Cal/OSHA's heat illness prevention presentation and this was designed to provide information on regulatory language for heat illness prevention, preventative measures, increased awareness, and commitment to safety and health at the worksites. And then specifically, he covered things like access to water and shade, making sure your employees have that. Weather monitoring and acclimatization, how you should handle high heat procedures, employee and supervisor training on dealing with these emergency situations and heat illness. And then also the written procedures, including emergency response.

AB: Okay. All right. So, if listeners were unable to attend the workshop where do you recommend that they get heat illness prevention training?

ML: Yeah. So, the presentation was recorded and the video will be available by next week. And then also you can get heat illness prevention training through our SafetyOne™ app. We have online training and then also toolbox talks that cover this topic.

AB: Well, that's good. There's a lot of different resources based on how somebody wants to get this information. So, Megan, how can listeners register for future workshops or webinars if they haven't registered for one in the past?

ML: Yeah, listeners can go to ranchomesa.com and click on the workshops and webinars tab in the navigation bar, and they'll be able to register for any of those.

AB: Great. So, you mentioned getting heat illness prevention training materials via the SafetyOne™ platform. If listeners have questions about the SafetyOne™ app who should they contact?

ML: Our clients can reach out to their Client Services Coordinator or anyone at Rancho Mesa, and we'll make sure to put them in touch with the right person.
