Alyssa Burley: You’re listening to Rancho Mesa’s StudioOne™ podcast, where each week we break down complex insurance and safety topics to help your business thrive. I’m your host, Alyssa Burley, and I’m joined by Brenda Colby, Client Technology Specialist with Rancho Mesa, and we’re going to talk about the updates that were made to our SafetyOne platform in 2025.
Brenda, welcome to the show.
Brenda Colby: Happy to be here, Alyssa.
AB: Now last year, we made several improvements to the navigation and workflow to the SafetyOne platform and mobile app. How have these changes helped safety managers save time and stay more organized?
BC: Well, in 2025, we focused on simplifying navigation so users could get to what they need with fewer clicks. Such as, smart filters, saved searches, and redesigned screens help safety managers move through the platform more efficiently. These improvements free up time so teams can focus more on incident prevention, and less on technical struggles.
AB: Absolutely. And, I like that we’ve updated the observation forms to include features like timestamped photos, bulk report exports, and required signatures. These are all things that our clients have expressed would be helpful to them.
So, how do these enhancements improve the accuracy and accountability of documentation in the field?
BC: Well, as you mentioned, those added features in the updated observation forms make it easier for teams to quickly document hazards and ensure the information is accurate. And these new features strengthen both accountability and the quality of the data collected, which leads to faster and more consistent corrective actions in the field.
AB: Exactly, and the easier it is for employees to document safety hazards, the quicker employers can respond to potential dangers and ultimately avoid accidents or claims.
Now, we also added new training management tools to the platform. How are those updates supporting training compliance?
BC: Well, the email training reminders feature was added to help ensure employees stay on top of their assigned safety trainings and not forget it has been assigned. The feature gives the employer the option for multiple reminders as well.
Plus, a new training icon on the mobile app home screen makes completing trainings even simpler for app users. This icon will appear when a training has been assigned to an employee and when selected, the user will be automatically rerouted to the training to complete. This makes it easier to access and complete on the go, without disrupting the flow of work.
And, I also want to add, there are a lot more updates still to come. Our developers are working on a number of improvements including: dashboards tied directly to client data.
AB: Brenda, if listeners have questions about using SafetyOne, what’s the best way to get in contact with you?
