Alyssa Burley: Hi! This is Alyssa Burley with Rancho Mesa’s Media Communications and Client Services Department. Thank you for listening to today’s top Rancho Mesa news brought to you by our safety and risk management network, StudioOne™. Welcome back, everyone. My guest is Megan Lockhart, Media Communications and Client Services Coordinator with Rancho Mesa. Today, she’s going to tell us about a new translation feature that is now available for our SafetyOne™ mobile forms. Megan, welcome to the show.

Megan Lockhart: Yeah, thanks for having me.

AB: Our developers have really been busy, lately. From what I understand, the new translation feature converts the English mobile forms into other languages. Megan, how might our clients utilize this feature?

ML: Well, for listeners who aren’t familiar with our SafetyOne™ App, clients have the ability to collect data using (what we call) mobile forms. They’re customizable forms that can be completed through the mobile app or by accessing the form by scanning a QR Code, or clicking a link in an email. Having mobile forms accessible via QR code or a link allows non-app users to easily complete your company forms and submit data electronically. For example, placing a QR code at the entrance to your jobsite or facility allows visitors to sign-in or complete whatever information you want to collect from them, easily and quickly. Some of our clients put QR codes on their company vehicles. They ask their drivers to scan the QR code, and complete a quick vehicle inspection before taking the vehicle. This makes collecting mobile form data simple. And, anyone can do it. No mobile app account is needed to complete the form. Our developers recognized that not everyone is comfortable filling out mobile forms in English. It could be a witness statement for an auto accident or you’re collecting a certificate of insurance from a sub-contractor, whatever data you are trying collect, it may not always be in English. So, our developers added the ability to translate the mobile forms that are accessed through a QR Code or URL.

AB: So how many languages are available?

ML: Users can choose from 136 languages.

AB: I think that’s probably plenty of languages for our clients to choose from. Is the data that is collected translated back into English?

ML: So, it depends. When there is a dropdown list, check box, or any prefilled options the person completing the form can choose from, those are translated back into English for the StudioOne™ administrator to review on the admin website. However, free form text fields are not translated back into English. So, if you think the end user may prefer another language, consider customizing your mobile forms with predetermined options, so they can choose from your list and the system will translate it for you.

AB: That makes sense. I think I mentioned this last week when we talked about the new field types. I’m really excited that we’re able to offer these additions to the platform. And I know are clients are, too. Megan, if listeners have questions about the SafetyOne™ app, who should they contact?

ML: Yeah, our clients can reach out to their client services coordinator or anyone at Rancho Mesa and we’ll be sure to put them in touch with the right person. Clients can also utilize our frequently asked questions library and tutorial videos at ranchomesa.com/safetyone/app.
