Alyssa Burley: Hi! This is Alyssa Burley with Rancho Mesa’s Media Communications and Client Services Department. Thank you for listening to today’s top Rancho Mesa news brought to you by our safety and risk management network, StudioOne™. Welcome back, everyone. My guest is Megan Lockhart, Media Communications and Client Services Coordinator with Rancho Mesa. Today, she’s going to tell us about new HR Compliance Tools in the RM365 HRAdvantage™ Portal. Megan, welcome to the show.

Megan Lockhart: Yeah, thanks for having me.

AB: Now, periodically, new features are added to the HR portal. And, we’re really excited to let everyone know about these new tools. So Megan, what are these new compliance tools?

ML: Well, we have new dashboard and insight screens that are found within the HR Compliance section of the HR portal. The HR Compliance Dashboard uses visuals to display data and information that’s easy to understand for better HR management. The dashboard shows both federal and state regulations relevant to the individual company. It includes OSHA Recordkeeping, Equal Employment Opportunity, the Family Medical Leave Act, and so much more that will apply to your organization. You can visually see if the size of your organization is approaching a threshold that will add additional compliance requirements based on your employee count.

AB: That’s so helpful. I know we often hear from clients that it’s a challenge to keep track of all the state and federal requirements especially as their employee counts fluctuate. So, what if the HR Portal users have questions about the individual regulations that are displayed on their dashboard? How can they find out more information?

ML: Yeah, under the chart, there’s a description for each regulation. So, if it’s something that you’re not too familiar with, you can get a brief overview. It even provides you with action items to address once the regulation applies to your organization.

AB: Well, that leads us to the next question. Tell us a little bit about the Compliance Insight screen?

ML: Yeah, of course. The HR Compliance Insights provide recommendations that companies can take action on to improve their compliance. This is especially useful if an organization adds a new location or increases their employee count. For example, if California’s Mini-COBRA rule applies to your organization, you can see action items to review the requirements and update your termination packet.  You can add these action items to your personalized To-Do List in the platform, so you know exactly what you need to do.

AB: I think that’s a really powerful tool. Often times, we know we have to comply with these various regulations, but we’re not really sure where to start. This tool gives you the action items you need to get started. So Megan, if HR Portal users have questions about their HR compliance situation, who should they contact?

ML: Our clients can reach out to our HR experts through the HR Portal or by phone. They can talk to people who are familiar with their state’s requirements.
